Objectives and Areas of Study

The doctoral programme at the University of Andorra has the following objectives:

  • To provide doctoral candidates with a systematic understanding of a field of study and the domain of aptitudes and research methods associated with it.
  • To provide doctoral candidates with the capacity to conceive, design, implement, and adapt a substantial research process with academic integrity.
  • To provide doctoral candidates with the capacity to make, through original research, a contribution which broadens the field of knowledge through the development of an important body of work, a part of which will be published in international indexed journals.
  • To provide doctoral candidates with the capacity to analyse, evaluate, and synthesise in a critical manner new and complex ideas.
  • To provide doctoral candidates with the capacity to communicate with their peers, the academic community, and the public about their abilities.
  • To provide candidates with the capacity to promote, in academic and professional contexts, technological, social, and cultural advancements in the society of knowledge.

Studies are open to all who may have an involvement in the economical and social development of Andorra and in the improvement of the quality of life of its citizens.
