DPA in Administration and Finance

The Advanced Professional Diploma in Administration and Finance is a higher professional qualification (short cycle) that combines theoretical knowledge with a strong practical component in order to guarantee the expertise and skills needed to successfully meet the demands of the profession. The business internship takes place in the last semester and requires a minimum of 400 hours.

Students who pass these studies can obtain an Advanced Professional Diploma in Administration and Finance, a state professional education qualification issued by the Andorran Government.

If students choose to continue studying and take the Bachelor of Business Administration, this education entails the recognition of credits.

The education includes subjects to perfect English and French and to reinforce the communicative competencies of students in these languages.

Applicants must hold one of the following qualifications:

  • Andorran high school diploma
  • University entrance exam for people over the age of 25

Or an equivalent qualification, recognised by Government of Andorra.

Students who obtain the DPA in Administration and Finance at the University of Andorra will be able to obtain the following competencies, among others:

  • To perform the administration and management of economic-financial operations.
  • To carry out business operations.
  • To draw up documents with computer tools.
  • To know foreign languages.

The syllabus of the DPA in Administration and Finance is made up of 120 European credits divided into two academic years, of which 16 credits correspond to internships at companies.

Students of the DPA in Administration and Finance must complete an internship at a company equivalent to 16 European credits (at least 400 hours), concentrated into the fourth and last semester. The UdA has a wide range of agreements with companies in the country to guarantee the smooth running of the students’ internships.

The DPA in Administration and Finance offers a wide range of career opportunities in fields related to the management and administration of companies in different economic sectors, in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and financial institutions and in the administration and public entities. Qualified professionals can develop the following professional profiles:

  • Clerk in the different departments of the company

  • Salesperson

The Advanced Professional Diploma in Administration and Finance enables students to continue their first cycle university studies. If they do similar studies, such as the Bachelor of Business Administration, at the University of Andorra, validations of approximately one third of the total credits of the bachelor’s degree are obtained.
