Research and Doctoral Commission

The Research and Doctoral Commission at the University of Andorra is the managing body for the research policy defined in the General Research Plan.

The Commission consists of the following members:

  • Juli Minoves, rector of the UdA, who presides over the Commission.
  • Montserrat Casalprim, Director College of eLearning and Lifelong Learning.
  • Josep Fortó, Director College of Business and Technology.
  • Virginia Larraz, Head of the International Doctoral School, who acts as secretary and is nominated by the rector.
  • Bárbara Cerrato, Coordinator of the Doctoral Programme.
  • Elvira Gea, doctorate and member of the Research Group on Health Sciences and Health Services, who represents collective of doctorates and members of research group of the University of Andorra, chosen within this group. Four-year term.
  • Rosa Mariño, member of the teaching staff of the University of Andorra, doctorate and member of the Research Group on Economics and Laws, who represents collective of doctorates and members of research group of the University of Andorra, chosen within this group. Four-year term.
  • Lorena Jordana, doctoral candidate, who represents collective of doctoral candidates of the University of Andorra, chosen within this group. Four-year term.

The basic functions of the Commission are:

1. The evaluation and possible definition of new research priorities.
2. The evaluation and possible acceptance of new research groups framed within the priority research areas of the University.
3. The evaluation and possible acceptance of new research projects from existing groups.
4. The promotion and coordination of the research activities of the University.
5. The coordination of the research groups and their collaboration.
6. The identification of new research areas and the update of existing research.
7. The implementation and monitoring of the General Plan and its possible evolution.
8. The monitoring of the Doctoral Programme.
