Interdisciplinary Observatory of History, Political Science, International Relations and European Union

The Interdisciplinary Observatory of History, Political Science, International Relations and European Union (OHPI-EU) was established in March 2025 with the aim of becoming a centre for education, research and knowledge transfer in these fields, adopting an interdisciplinary approach and focusing on the optimisation of available resources. To this end, the following lines of action are envisaged:

  1. Research promotion, by encouraging innovative research projects in these fields of study; hosting experts, lecturers and researchers specialising in these areas; supporting the development of doctoral theses; and providing training and mentoring for researchers.
  2. Knowledge generation, through the production of publications, reports and studies that offer new and well-informed perspectives on relevant topics, including scientific, educational and general-interest publications.
  3. Education and knowledge transfer, by offering university extension training programmes in these fields and organising events such as conferences, round tables and social activities that promote knowledge transfer and generate societal impact.

Through these efforts, the Observatory aims to become a leading centre for knowledge generation and critical analysis, making a significant contribution to academic debate and to informed decision-making in the fields of history, political science, international relations and the European Union.
