UdA explores new cooperation opportunities with UCSD

On Monday, 14 July, the University of Andorra (UdA) welcomed the visit of Paul Roben, Associate Vice Chancellor for Innovation and Technology Commercialisation at the University of California San Diego (UCSD). Roben was received by the Rector of the UdA, Juli Minoves, and subsequently held a working meeting with the Vice-Rector, Josep Fortó, the Director of the International Doctoral School, Virginia Larraz, and the Head of IT Services, Aleix Dorca.

The meeting served to establish avenues of academic cooperation with UCSD, particularly in research areas with a focus on health. Minoves and his team presented Dr Roben with the new University Research Institute for Health at UdA and the potential for joint research in ageing, health promotion and epidemiology. Notably, Dr Magda Marquet, an Andorran scientist based in San Diego, chairs the Advisory Board of the new UdA Institute.

The Rector and the Vice Chancellor agreed to appoint representatives from both institutions to work together on developing channels of cooperation.
